[TLSI] Does TLSI cost more to construct? |

We have not made specific analysis of building cost, so we will provide you information on some typical cases.
It is true that the TLSI would cost more to build than the at-grade intersection with the same number of lanes.
However, to make fair comparison, the amount of traffic the road can handle should be considered in comparing the cost of construction. In other words, comparing the cost of building two types of intersections is meaningless, if an 8-lane TLSI can handle twice the traffic of a typical 8-lane at-grade intersection.
Which would be more economically sound if a 10-lane at-grade intersection would have to be constructed to match the traffic flow of a 6-lane TLSI ?
Furthermore, which would be more economical between an 8-lane two-way at-grade intersection with anticipated congestion and an 8-lane two-way TLSI that could relieve the traffic congestion.
